Cavallo Point
The Lodge at the Golden Gate

  • Northern California

Originally built in 1901 as Fort Baker, a military installation on San Francisco Bay, the property consisted of historic buildings arranged around a 10-acre parade ground. Working with a private client and the National Park Service, ARG developed the conceptual master plan for the site’s adaptation to a conference center. ARG also served as Architect of Record for the rehabilitation of the 18 historic buildings, now known by its historic name, Cavallo Point. Located at the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge, Cavallo Point, The Lodge at the Golden Gate benefits from a spectacular location. The project represents a unique public, private and non-profit alliance created to sustainably restore, enhance, adapt, and preserve the historic military site for a new use.

Cavallo Point is LEED Gold certified.
