CRA Performing Arts Center
Feasibility Study

  • Southern California

With the assistance of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles (CRA/LA), a non-profit organization that owns the vacant 1924 former Presbyterian Church proposed to rehabilitate the building and convert it for use as a multipurpose performing arts facility to serve the local community. ARG’s three practice groups worked together to conduct a feasibility assessment that identified design challenges and the potential of the space to accommodate new uses. ARG made recommendations for the stabilization of the structure, which had been damaged extensively in the Northridge Earthquake. Using our expertise with the State Historic Building Code, ARG conducted a preliminary code analysis to evaluate disabled access and fire & life safety issues.
